There’s unprofessional and then there’s Ray Horn

Your 15 minutes of fame are almost up mr. Horn.

I was curious to see if (attention whore, forgive the term) Ray was still trying to get his "any press is good press". He is.

his latest post has him looking rather childish and unprofessional as he nips at Ray Camdens heals. The funny thing is, he posted Ray’s reply, which makes pretty good technical sense to me, and then tries to cast it in a bad light. Which IMO ends up making mr Horn, look (again) foolish.

This latest post makes him seem to not even be very competant as a web developer.

My thoughts on this person are fairly simple. Yes in most cases any press is good press, but Mr. Horn, think about this. In all of this tamult you’ve caused, you look like; a child, a complete boob much of the time, and a consumate unprofessional. I certainly hope none of your clients google you before they hire you. Every new contractor or employee I’ve ever worked with has been thuroughly googled, and some one exhibiting such blatant unprofessionalism, wouldn’t make it past the recycle bin.

I hope you’ve enjoyed your 15 minutes of fame, when it’s over I hope you can find work.

Good luck out there.

See you in DC!

I’ve been trying to decide whether I should register for CFUNITED ’06 for the last few weeks. Well it’s decided, I just finished registering a few minutes ago. only 156 days left, I’m glad I didn’t wait until the last minute :)

From what I’ve read so far it’s the thing to attend these days. Hopefully Macrododia will keep MAX going, but considering how long it too MACR to announce the location, I doubt I’ll know where it is for some time now.

CFUNITED works out well since Nicole’s parents’ 50th wedding anniversary is right around that time so we’ll be able to go see them too and celebrate with everyone.

Oh and another vote of confidence in CFUNITED was that Macrodobia just signed up to be a platinum sponsor, so that’s cool.

The Blogosphere is a violent place sometimes…

I feel like Lorn Green (commander Adama) watching a pack of lions take down a dumb bison that wandered too far from it’s area.

Not that I feel bad for Ray Horn. From what I can tell he’s kind of a shameless individual. In the truest sense of the word, Ray didn’t limit the use of his blog app, but you don’t have to have it spelled out it an open Source license to not be shady. The Jist, he took Rays blogCFC, modified it a bit, took out the comments, encrypted his additions (so it’s mostly open, sans a few encrypted files), and is offering it up as his own. AND asking for money. Pretty weak sauce there Ray (Horn, not Camden)

So now the lions are ripping him to shreds, as well they should I think. That’s how community works.

It started with this.

Saw this.

This too.

Joe had this to say also.

I’m sure there’s more

I thought it was just me.

All this time I thought it was just me. Go figure!

Macrodobia releases Dreamweaver Updater 8.0.1

Read the technote for a list of fixes. My favorite:

  • When doing Find & Replace, Dreamweaver prompts you to re-checkout a file already checked out in Visual SourceSafe, and all changes are lost (Windows)
