My pal Tim sent, this, and I was gonna post it on my personal blog, but wanted to share with a wider audience. This movie has some serious promise!!
Might be one of the better Marvel movies to come along, in a long time.

We’re hiring, still. I recently joined Xylem CCI as a Senior Application Developer, or Engineer, or some such title. I do Flex Dev.
I love it. I’ve only ever worked at a "web shop" once before and it was nowhere as cool a place. That’s probably because Xylem is a Creative Advertising Agency, not an ad agency, don’t be confused.
We’ve got a number of positions open so take a look.
Since joining I’ve been neck deep in a really cool project, and have helped out on another project. It’s so great to be developing Flex apps all day, every day. Even greater to be doing it on some really cool applications. That’s a big thing right there. Applications, not websites…
So if you’re a Flex, ActionScript Developer looking for some incredible challenges, and are ok with Beer Fridays, dogs visiting the office, red bull by the truck load (really, I’ve seen it delivered), and small RC helicopters doing strafing runs over your desk, drop an email to Sam (smason AT xylemcci DOT com).
We’re doing more and more Flex work, which is cool and hopefully that turns into some sweet AIR apps too.
Honestly, I haven’t been this fulfilled in a long time, work wise at least :)

Not a big turn out, I was surprised, even in the "after work" hours. I know Xylem was busy, i was the only one that made it out, bummer.
Lee Brimelow’s preso was cool, I enjoyed his visuals, they really helped make the point, way to go.
The ebay/EUI preso was good, i think San Dimas may beat Vista’s record for "it’s coming, be patient", but when (if?) it ever goes mainstream, it will rock.
The Y! preso, was only so so. I dunno it just wasn’t wowing me, and making an AIR app that seems to behave just like a Y! Widget, wasn’t really impressing me. I dunno, maybe it was just me.
Getting to sit and chat with Ryan and Kevin was great, that should happen more often, IMO :) They rock! And I almost got to see Daniel eat a box of Krispy Kremes for $20.
Despite my abject dislike of speaking in front of crowds, I got up and gave some info on 360|Flex. It should be a great time, we’ve got really cool things planned for the conference, so it was cool to get to tell people about it in person, now if I could just not be so nervous about it.
It seemed to go well despite my nerves, I only left out the most important info: price and date… you know the little details. Hopefully people read my shirt, or visit the site :) Props to Chambers for loading up the site on the big screen, so I’d ahve something to reference, which helped a lot! I don’t know if he knew how much, but it was good it was up there!
Mike’s "what’s in the bus" talk was really cool, seeing the apps they’ve been using, how they built them, what kind of tech they’re running (Yay! more Macs than PCs), is really cool. Sprint must love them.
Overall kudos to Adobe, cool event, I’m bummed more Denverites (denverinos?) couldn’t make it out, poor showing guys, come one, one day! :) But it was good, good content, great side line chats, I met the guys who did the ColdFusion PodCast! They’re very cool! Is there anyone Ryan doesn’t know? If nothing else events like this are cool to see folks you don’t see often, like Denver Dave, and his crazy crew, Rob, if only Emily was here!
See everyone in August, in Seattle, then Chicago in October! w00t!!!

I got here a little late, LOWER Colfax is actually a road, whereas I thought it was just a descriptor of Colfax. And since my car’s NavCom recognized 2027 Colfax, i thought I was good to go. Not so fast slick. As I crossed over the Freeway, the Nav called out, "You’ve arrived"
"Uh no. I certainly didn’t" I talk to the car sometimes, it talks to me, it only seems polite :)
So onto the trusty phone to call my wife, and have her across down navigate for me, thanks Y! maps.
So I arrive at Mile High Station a smidge after Ryan had started his keynote. He gives a good keynote, I have to admit :)
Kevin and Mike both presented before Lunch, well done too, good stuff.
Lunch was… meh. to say the least. Tom would be very disappointed.
Daniels talk was great, can’t wait to get my hands wet on a sometimes connected app and use that SQL Lite goodness….. muwa ha ha ha
The Salesforce preso just ended. Not bad, but I have no interest in Salesforce, nor does my employer (Xylem CCI) have need, as far as I know.
Break time,
