Dear John,
Does it really hurt so much to put those icons on say, the 5th page of your iPhone desktop? That's where I hide all the apps I don't want to use. Stop stressing yourself out like this!

Regards,
Peng :)

@Chris,

hey Tip calc is useful! LOL

Yeah even a system setting to hide, would be nice.

And yeah I have 5 accounts that funnel into my iPhone, makes for a big unread count. I wish the Mail app was like a blrackberry. The read status from the system would come over so it would mark as read once I read it on my computer. or move it once I've moved it or labeled it. Kinda sucks

You have a point. What bugs me even more is that you can't rearrange them in iTunes. Neither does iTunes store the settings, so they end up getting all jumbled up everytime I do an OS update. That said, you got some cool app installed, will have to check 'em out myself.

@peng,

Shot answer, no. That's where I currently put them. But it begs the question. Why can't I just not have them? If there's no use for them, why have them? Why force me to keep them?

I think whats happening is that people get so psyched about this application install ability that they fill their phone up with a bunch of crazy useless stuff. Then their desktop is simply filled to the brim with apps they may only open once in a blue moon (tip calculator anyone?). I think if you trim the fat, you may not find those extra icons so annoying.

As an aside, it would be really nice if the settings app had a new section where you could disable system apps. Once disabled they would be invisible, but once re-enabled they would pop up again.

By the way, looks like you (or someone else) needs to read some email.
