About

I’m John Wilker,  Co-founder of 360Conferences. We produce 360|Flex, the worldwide leader in Flex Developer conferences. We launched 360|iDev in 2009and it quickly became THE event for iOS developers to attend.

I’m very interested in community building and event organizing. I’ve recently partnered in opening a coworking space in Denver called Uncubed. Our focus with Uncubed is to provide an awesome hacking space and place to work for Creatives of all types: developers, designers, writers, etc. All are welcome. Lawyers, real estate types, marketers… sorry not welcome.

I also organize Ignite Denver, an O’reilly Ignite event, to bring together the best and brightest of Denver to meet, drink and talk to each other. If some one has something interesting to share, they’re welcome. Ignite offers people from widely varying backgrounds to come together and learn new things.

I’m co-host of The Flex Show, The only (as far as I know or care ;D ) Podcast for Flex Developers, by Flex Developers. We interview developers around the world, doing cool and interesting things in the Flex Community, as well as a monthly (or so) news episode, recapping the news in the developer community, with some commentary.

I’m very interested in learning as much as I can about the aspects of community building that involve social media, a topic near and dear to my heart, if it’s social, and online, I’m likely a user, unless it sucks.

I’m sorta a religious fanatic about the Clue Train Manifesto, so if I start getting all foamy and ranty about “the conversation” that’s why. 360Conferences, adheres very closely to the ideas behind the Manifesto, we’re transparent, and open with our customers. I’m endeavoring to bring that to EffectiveUI too, we’re working on it, but I think when we’re done, EUI is gonna be even more kick ass than we are now, because our clients, and developer/designer community members will be engaged!

This page will never be static. As I change, the “about” page will too.
