Denver Startup Week 2013

It’s Back! If you missed last years Startup week, make sure you’re paying attention this year! It’s gonna be bigger and better (My Prediction). I’m really excited about it, and hope to be even more involved than I was last year. I really want Denver to be a big player in the startup space. At least personally I want to help get boot strapped startups more love. I know VC makes the world go ’round, but think it’s important, especially in a city like Denver, that we make sure to highlight and give love to the boot strappers out there (of which I’m one). iWatch Review: Pebble

I really hope Apple takes a while to deliver on their iWatch, at this point I have far more than I can wear without looking like i fell out of the 80’s with a few watches on my wrists. (Yeah I admit, i did that) I backed the Pebble watch the moment i saw it, in fact only like 3500 people out of the 76,000 that backed it, backed it before i did.  Ok On to my thoughts. It’s pretty damn awesome. the delays in shipping it (was supposed to ship in early September 2012) were worth it. Not only is it really polished, but they added a ton of things to future proof it. Accelerometer, magnetometer, etc. Things it didn’t need right now, but can’t be added once shipped….

I wonder if Mark Millar watches movies?

I was catching up on my news feeds after traveling and came across this funny piece. Apparently Marvel Comics Consultant Mark Millar doesn’t think a Justice League Movie will work. One reason, he argues “I actually think the big problem for them is the characters are just too out of date. The characters were created 75 years ago, even the newest major character was created 68 years ago, so they’re in a really weird time.” Captain America came out in 1941. While 75 year old characters are completely lame, out of touch, etc., it seems, 72 is the perfect age for relevance. I suppose Hawkeye might be a young character, but who the fuck likes hawkeye in the first place? It’s as if he doesn’t bother watching movies made by…
