I’m a visual person. When it comes to space ships or buildings, I
“Where’s the bathroom?”
“How big is the shuttle bay?” Don’t get me started on
So I sat down and made a quick set of blueprints for the Ghost.
I’ve always known the
There are a few references to guest berths, and the the crew bunks. I figured they’d be at the “top” of the hump on the primary hull. Above and away from engineering and other spaces. Since I’d added a brig in ‘Space Rogues 3’ I needed one in my plans, so figured this deck made as much sense as any other.
B deck is where most of the action aboard the ship takes place, when the crew is not on the bridge. The lounge and kitchen area are here, engineering and the medbay are here too. This is the main “living space” of the Ghost.
We’ve only really ‘seen’ the cargo hold as the crew comes and goes. The sparing mat gets some time in a few books, but otherwise the cargo hold is just where the crew comes and goes from. I left the outline of the upper deck to provide some scale. I might in later updates move the stairs connecting B and C decks. We’ll see.
Sometime soon I’d love to give these to an artist to illustrate a few views of the ship. I think that’d be pretty cool. We’ll see. There are a few things to still add/update before I’d consider these plans finished.
What do you think? Is the layout what you ‘saw’ in your head when reading? What you expected?
